Location

The KSRTC bus terminal under the public-private partnership (PPP) model at Puttur, an
important commercial centre in Dakshina Kannada district.

Concessionaire Hindustan Promoters and Builders, who have built the terminal, is given
33 years of licence to operate the commercial space at the terminal. The terminal has
come up on about 2.98 acres of land, where KSRTC’s old bus-stand and bus-depot
were once located. As many as 27 bus bays would cater to passengers’ requirement.

The amenities include ladies’ waiting room with rest rooms, space for canteen, shops,
traffic control, retiring room for bus crew and others. The terminal also has a parking
facility for passengers at the basement. The developer has made provisions for parking
at the basement while ground and first floors would have space for commercial
activities, including shops and establishments. Location of the bus terminal in Puttur

COMPONENTS OF A BUS TERMINAL

The whole bus terminal complex for KSRTC is divided into two major components:
• Terminal Area’
• Commercial area

The project accommodates the terminal complex housing bus parking areas,
passenger amenities and commercial retail and office spaces integrated in
the building.
The terminal facility accommodates 27 bus bays and passenger amenities
area in one level and a retail mall in the lower levels.
The design takes advantage of the steep gradient of the site having
integrated access of the retail areas with the terminal level. SITE PLAN

This zone is an extension of the terminal zone which provides space for the
officers and as well the public. This zone provides all the amenities as per
requirements.

It consists of basement parking, ground floor retail area, mezzanine floor for
office purpose, private office spaces at first floor and hotel rooms at second
floor level.

The basement parking has an entrance ramp of 5mt wide having 1:10
slope ratio is parallel to the terminal entry ramp.
The provision for about 20 car parks and sufficient two wheelers is been
provided.
The staircase and lift are starting from the level.
