EXT. SOUQ WAQIF – DAY

[FLASHBACK BEGINS]

(SPECIFIC FILTER WHICH SHOWCASES THE OLDEN TIMES)During the

1970’s, highlighting past events in a small antique shop at
the end of the corridor, a young woman enters to buy a passé
box; modern-styled centuries ago, outdated nowadays.

[SHOT REVERSE SHOT]

GRANDMOTHER
(Arabic)‫ عندك صندوق صغير جاهز للشراء؟‬،‫السالم عليكم‬
[TRANSLATION] Hello, do you have a small ready to buy box?

SHOP OWNER
(Arabic)‫ أي لون تبين؟‬،‫اي موجود‬
[TRANSLATION] Sure, which colour would you like?

GRANDMOTHER
(Arabic)‫ مصممة بمسامير ذهبية إذا كانت متوفرة‬،‫بني لو سمحت‬
[TRANSLATION] Brown please, designed with gold studs if it’s
available.

SHOP OWNER
(Arabic) ‫ماما هذا زين؟‬
[TRANSLATION] Ma’am, is this good?

GRANDMOTHER
(Arabic) ‫اي حلو‬
[TRANSLATION] Yes, it’s great.

The shop owner proceeds in concluding the transaction, which

then subsequently illustrates the grandmother leaving the shop
through a medium shot of her legs, coupled with a diegetic
sound of a bell. Which then graphic match cuts to the
grandmother entering the house simultaneously.
INT. HOUSE - NIGHT

Upon her arrival, the grandmother sets the archaic box on a

wooden table. Hence, segueing the past to present through an
atmospheric colour change excluding any cuts; evincing the
years that have gone by.

[FLASHBACK ENDS]

The camera then steadily pans to the right whilst tilting

upwards at a slow pace. Disrupting the progressive speed into
a celerity, a girl walks past short-winded.

We meet...

ALESSANDRA EL CHANTI

a perceptive young adult, yet ironically unthinking. She’s

seen carrying grocery bags whilst feeling mystified; red-nosed
from the cold.

ALESSANDRA
Mahooy, did you leave the door open?

CRUMPLING BAG SOUNDS

We see Alessandra’s sister, Maha, a 16 year old trenchant

teenager who stereotypically possesses the traits of a
rebellious and satiric teen girl.

MAHA
I don't think so? It was locked when I came in.

ALESSANDRA
Weird, anyways I bought some groceries if you wanna make
something to eat.

MAHA
Alright, I’ll finish watching the movie then fix dinner.

Whilst Alessandra sets the groceries on the table, fragments

of distant shrieks were overheard. Perplexed by the horridity
of the screams, Alessandra’s eyes were set on an image of a
girl on screen getting her throat sliced.
ALESSANDRA
(Distressed, heaving a deep sigh)
Can you turn the volume down? It might disturb our neighbours.

MAHA
Okay, okay… who knows? Might happen to you someday.

Leaving to her room, Alessandra’s suspicions increase in

intensity as she falls victim to her naivety.

Upon entering her room lethargically, the sight of it etched a

look of dismay on her face. Scruffy bed sheets, traces of hand
prints on her grey mirrors, scattered objects on the floor.

ALESSANDRA
(Whispers to herself shakily)
What the hell?

Tidying the mess up, she oscillates in the confines of her

room incomprehensibly. Eventually, the thought of looking
beneath her bed as if a monster would be present popped up in
her mind, Alessandra then dropped down to her knees to
confirm. As she hung her head down, a set of shoes can be seen
popping out behind the curtains, which she was utterly
oblivious to.

Pushing matters aside, she lays down stomach-faced on her

newly cleaned bed watching TikToks. A medium close up shot
showcases her face and the surroundings behind her will depict
the stalker emerging from the curtains.

Sudden movements arise as Alessandra fights for her life,

struggling against the stalker’s chokehold. A zoom out motion
will then exhibit Alessandra’s slit throat coupled with a
slash on her right eye.

STALKER
Now we’re destined to be together...
