CHAPTER III: TVET PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

Activity 1: Research on an article, story or research about the implementation of the TVET
system. Reflect on the said story/article/research using this format.
Title: Partnerships with Industry for Efficient and Effective Implementation of TVET
Author: Jeongwoo Lee
Important Details: It focuses on partnership with industry as a means to efficiently and effectively
implement technical and vocational education and training (TVET). Specifically, this article
examinesthe situation in Africa, which issuffering from a chronic lack of skilled workforces both
quantitatively and qualitatively. It outlines applicable six strategies to strengthen partnerships in
TVET: (1) the industry’s involvement in the development and expansion of TVET, (2) a 60+40
training system to increase efficiency and productivity, (3) introducing national technology
qualification (NTQ) system, (4) systemizing lifelong TVET, (5) TVET’s strategic transition, and
(6) establishing regulatory and systemic framework. In addition, it displays an overview of
partnership-based TVET system, which is a combination of the six strategies.
Reflection
Technical and vocational education has the potential of improving the socio-economic sector of
the country. The skills of a workforce make the economy of its country competitive. This depends
on the quality of the country's educational and training systems.

Activity 2. Considering the level of the Philippine Qualification Framework, at what level do you
see yourself 10 years from now? What will you do to be able to reach this level?

By considering the Level of Philippine Qualification Framework I see myself in 10 years

from now to be a diploma holder and still be striving to get a National Certificate Level IV in
order for me to be more tittle holder myself. What will I do to be able to reach that level? By
simply grinding, studying hard and be competitive , competent , be understanding and flexible in
time management.

Activity 3: Using the Training Regulation (TR) of your respective qualification, answer the
following questions.
1. Describe your qualification as stated in the TR.
My qualification as stated in the TR is I am competent enough to get my 2 National Certificate 2
or NC2 in both Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II and in Electronic Products
Assembly and Servicing NC II as respective qualification.

2. What are the unit of competencies comprising this qualification?

The unit of competencies comprising this qualifications are the following

1. Job-Based or Workplace Competencies: As the name suggests, these are technical and
behavioral competencies required for a job.
2. Leadership Competencies
3. Self-Awareness. Understanding your emotions and thoughts and how they influence
your behavior. 
4. Teamwork/Collaboration.

3. Does the TR contain the necessary competencies you need to learn in order to become
competent in your chosen qualification? What else are the other components of the TR that
are needed in enhancing your skills?
Yes the TR contain the necessary competencies I needed to learn in order to become
competent in my chosen qualification. The other components that the TR has that are needed to
enhance my skills is being Socialized because I am shy and sometimes I don’t speak too much, I
need to learn teamwork and being collaborating as a person.
