Hi Nora,

I sympathise with your situation and can understand why the decision is
difficult for you to make. In my opinion the best thing to do is to tell your friend
that you have recognised the story from the book that your grandma has. If I
were you, I would try to encourage her to privately go to the organizers of this
competition and tell them the truth. Afterall she is the only one who is
responsible for being in a position like this. You can not take the blame after her
mistakes. As I see it you are a great and caring person, who only wants to
protect her friend, I am sure she will see it from the right perspective too. Maybe
if you think that she is too stubborn to listen to you, then you should have some
mutual friends backing you up.
I am not suggesting you to publicly humiliate her and make her
embarrassed. I think it is important that you choose the right time, appropriate
words, and the right tone too.
You have shown that you care for this friend by taking the time to post
this blog. I wish you luck and hope that you will succeed.
