Practical information for the maintenance service

1. When setting up the machine, there is enough space for storage, among other
things.

transport of the resulting chips must be taken into account. 2. When removing the
protective coating from all bare parts, under no circumstances may the slides be
adjusted or screws and nuts loosened, so that the settings made by the manufacturer
are not changed.

3. If the main drive motor flat belt slips after prolonged use (about 20,000

operating hours), re-tightening will only make it completely unusable for a short

tig delayed. The belt is then better replaced immediately and cleaned according to
regulations.

strains.

4. The main short-circuit fuse must be installed outside and on the machine in
accordance with VDE regulations. A circuit diagram is always located on the inside
of the control cabinet door.

separated

5. According to the manufacturer, limit switches have an average service life of

around 20 million switching cycles, multiple limit switches and contactor relays
around 30 million. For safety reasons, these devices must therefore be checked for
their condition after around 20 million switching cycles and replaced if necessary.

6. The dismantling of a lathe spindle or the adjustment of the bearing play may
only be carried out by one

trained specialist. It is best to have a fitter from the manufacturer

lerwerks requested.

7. The cross slide stop screws in the spindle drum have been precisely set in the
manufacturer's works and must not be changed under any circumstances.

8. If faults occur within the safety device in the feed drive, it must be checked
whether the distance between the non-contact limit switches and the contact parts
is also 1.6 0.2 mm. The two limit switches are embedded in plastic housings that
only allow a low tightening torque. Any readjustment to the specified dimension
must therefore also

Burst be made sensitively. 9. When adjusting the camshafts to each other, the
tightening torque for fixing the worm wheel body according to the size of the
machine must be observed.

10. Special measuring devices are required to readjust the longitudinal slide
holding arm. Should a correction become necessary, it is best to request a fitter
from the manufacturer.

11. The oil level of the fresh oil lubrication is to be checked once a week (during
normal operation) and if necessary topped up with the appropriate oil (according to
the lubricant card).

12. For circulating lubrication, the appropriate oil (according to the lubricant
card) must be topped up once a week (during normal operation), the container must
be cleaned four times a year and the oil changed.

13. The dirt container of the circulating oil filter must be cleaned every 4 weeks
and every 8 weeks in the first half of the year and the filter insert replaced.

14. The main drive motor must be checked once a year, cleaned with K 2 K lubricant
in accordance with DIN 51 502.

and to relubricate.

thereafter

15. The hydraulic oil must be changed once a year. Oil H - L 25 according to DIN
51524.
