Chapter V

MANAGEMENT STUDY

The management study discusses the form of business ownership, capital requirement,

organizational structure, manpower requirements, and organizational policies. The main

objective of this plan is to determine the effectiveness of the organization set-up for the daily

work.

A. Form of Business Ownership

The company would be in the form of partnership. It is a form of business organization in

which owners has unlimited personal liability for the actions of the business. The partners

namely, Ariel Aslor, Dawin Capuno, Via Gano, Kathleen Marco and Lovely Sarzuela agreed to

form a general partnership that will operate under the firm named Sweet Escape Corporation

that will manufacture “Sabanana Balls”. Each proponent will contribute their money skills and

knowledge. The company gains a pofit that will be divided to each proponent.

B. Capital requirement

The Capital requirement is the sum of the funds that your company needs to achieve its

goal.

The Table 5.1 shows the equally divided partners contribution to establish the business.

C. Organizational Structure

An organizational structure could be a framework that traces how certain exercise are

coordinated in arrange to realize the objectives of an organization. It is illustrated through

diagram that portrays what workers do, which they report to and how choices are made over the

business.

The Figure 5.1 shows the organization structure of the business; where in the top level

management is the general manager.

D. Manpower Requirements

Manpower is essential in businesses especially since they cannot keep up operations

without it a company which has more manpower/workforce will be able to achieve more tasks

and take on more ventures. Those companies with scarcely enough manpower are barely

progressing to get any work done. The partners agreed to hire factory workers and a general

manager that will manage the production and report every month. The workers should have traits

that will satisfy the qualification in order to be hired in a business and they must function

respectively.
Job Specification

In order to contract the right individuals for specific positions, the following details that

the proponents set should meet. The proper individual that will fit for the work plays a vital part

for the growth of the proposed business.

General Manager

 Must be a college graduate related to the business

 Must process excellent communication skills

 Must have superior knowledge to manage the business

 Must have strong leadership

 Must be an effective decision maker

 Must be hardworking, determined and honest

Bookkeeper

 Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline

 Previous bookkeeping experience preferred

 Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Production worker

 At least high school graduate

 Had working experience


 Hardworking and honest

 Must have knowledge of manufacturing production and processes

Job Description

A job description is a helpful, straightforward tool for explaining a position's tasks,

duties, functions, and responsibilities. It specifies who performs a particular type of work, how

that work is to be completed, as well as the frequency and purpose of the work in relation to the

organization's mission and goals.

General Manager

 Take full profit and loss responsibility

 Coordination of employees, as well as supervision and leadership of lower-level

managers

 Conduct market research and complex analysis of potential opportunities.

 Make suggestions for business expansion.

 Make revenue-boosting suggestions.

 Make suggestions for improving employee engagement

 Develop, review, and put into action effective business plans

 Participate in meetings, trainings, seminars, and conferences.

Bookkeeper

 Keep an accurate record of all financial transactions.

 Maintain and update the general ledger

 Debits and credits are recorded.


 Account reconciliation is used to confirm the accuracy of transactions.

 Completing the data entry, collect transactions, track debits

 Maintain and monitor financial records

 They also pay invoices, complete payroll, file tax returns and even maintain office

supplies

Production worker

 Produce and assemble products in factories

 They operate and maintain machinery

 Ensure production standards are met

 Finalize products

 Maintain the cleanliness in the working area

Compensation

Compensation is the entire amount of cash and non-monetary payments you make to an

employee in return for the job they accomplish for your company. It is often one of the most

expensive costs for businesses employing workers. Compensation is more than an employee's

usual pay. It also covers a variety of different sorts of compensation and perks.

The employees must have receive compensation for their effort they make for the

company to achieve the organizational goal. To motivate them, the proponents agreed that the

general manager will receive a Php 600 daily rate, Php 500 daily rate for the bookkeeper, and

Php 373 daily rate for the worker.

E. Organizational policies

A course of action chosen from among alternatives by an organization, institution, univer

sity, 

community, or other entity to lead and determine current and future actions and positions on issu

es of public interest or social concern.

 Always follow the correct procedures.

 Never take shortcuts.

 Take responsibility and clean up if you made a mess.

 Ensure a clear and easy route to emergency exits and equipment.

 Be alert and awake on the job.


 Be attentive at all times to your work surroundings.

 When in doubt, contact your supervisor or manager for instruction, guidance, or training.

 Never take risks when it comes to safety.

 Obey safety signs, stickers, and tags.

 Take short breaks when you keep up a repetitive motion for a long period of time, and sit,

stand, or walk with good posture.

 Report serious injuries immediately to a supervisor and get emergency assistance.

 Keep things in perspective.
