Module 4: Assessing the Curriculum

Curriculum assessment is widely performed on the success story of students during

the educational era using various methods such as surveys, interviews, and so on. The

commonly used ways to measuring the effectiveness of the curriculum as the educational

process guideline are insufficient. According to Ms. Vilbar, the ultimate purpose of

curriculum evaluation is to guarantee that the curriculum is effective in encouraging

enhanced student learning quality. As a result, student assessment implies evaluation of

student learning. Assessment of student learning has always had a strong influence on how

and what teachers teach, and it is thus an important source of feedback on the appropriateness

of curriculum material implementation. The word "evaluation" refers to the process of

determining a value. In education, the phrase "evaluation" refers to operations involving

curricula, programs, interventions, teaching methods, and organizational aspects. Curriculum

assessment seeks to examine the influence of implemented curriculum on student (learning)

accomplishment in order to update the official curriculum as needed, as well as to review

teaching and learning processes in the classroom. As a teacher, achieving the various aims of

assessment, certification, and accountability necessitates the use of various evaluation

instruments and procedures adapted to each person's goals. For me, summative or formative

assessment of student learning is possible, and there are several types of tests to serve

different demands, such as standardized exams, performance-based tests, ability tests,

aptitude tests, and IQ tests.
