ECHAVIA ETHICS LESSON 1

ACTIVITY (LET’S GET STARTED!)

RECALL FIVE 5 (5) RULES THAT YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW AT HOME.
THESE RULES SHOULD BE THE MOST STRICTLY ENFORCED BY YOUR
PARENTS.
* If I make a mess, I am responsible for cleaning it up.
* If there are things that are not mine, we must ask permission to use them.
* If I am going anywhere, I must ask permission from them if they are okay
with it.
* I must focus on my education.
* Chores first, before anything else.

➢ Why do you need to follow them in spite of the fact

that they limit you on things you want to do?
- When I was a kid, I didn’t much enjoy obeying my
parents, and when I became a teenager, that
attitude became even more evident. Obeying our
parents can seem like a drain on your fun or can
even be interpreted as them being cruel. While no
parent is perfect, many strive to be loving and
consistent. Therefore, obedience is for the child’s
own good. Our parent can see beyond the
immediate inconvenience of finishing chores, saving
money, or completing homework to the ultimate
good those responsibilities bring. The limitations
and obligations parents place on their kids are not
designed to be a burden, but rather to train them.
Children need to develop boundaries, moral
judgment, and responsibility if they are to thrive in
life. Rules and tasks aren't meant to be harsh
obstacles. Rather, they're the foundational elements
of a solid, whole existence. Doing what we are
taught is only one aspect of obeying our parents. It
is a mirror of how we obey the Lord, and it ought to
imitate how Christ completely obeys the Father.
That’s why I need to follow them.

ANALYSIS (LET’S THINK ABOUT IT!)

NOW THINK ABOUT THE QUESTIONS BELOW:

➢ WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN IF ALL THE

RULES WE FOLLOW NOT FOLLOWED?
- The consequences of breaking the rules are severe.
There isn't any distinction made in the penalties for
breaching the law. In this sense, equality becomes
the cornerstone of law. Work is done more
effectively, and daily living becomes more efficient.
➢ HOW DO YOU IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT RULES
WOULD BE?
- Chaos, violence, hatred, lack of compassion, and
meaninglessness characterize this universe. Animal
or human cruelty might occur without the
perpetrator being detained or prosecuted. If there
were no laws for individuals to abide by, the world
would be a terrifying place. There are no rules, so if
people did horrible things like steal from other
people, they would just get away with it.
➢ WHY MUST WE FOLLOW RULES EVEN IF THEY ARE
CONSTRICTING OR PROHIBITIVE?
- Even though regulations are restrictive or
prohibitive, we must abide by them because they
promote an orderly community, a harmonious way
of life, as well as the improvement of our planet. On
the contrary side, adhering to rules is the most
effective way for individuals to feel secure and safe.
Although we are free beings with the ability to
make morally right or wrong decisions, as humans,
when we follow those rules, we instantly act in ways
that benefit not only ourselves but also others. To
put it another way, we consider both the security
and safety of others as well as our own to avoid
risks and live as a good example to others. Rules
must be adhered to scrupulously, especially when
they pertain to other persons or any actions that are
regarded as unethical or illegal. As a student and a
daughter, it is our duty and obligation to abide by
all laws at home, in the neighborhood, and in
society.
➢ WHY ARE RULES IMPORTANT IN A FUNCTIONING
SOCIETY?
- For the public's health, safety, and well-being,
rules are crucial. They are put into place to penalize
conduct that endangers others in society and offer
protection to the victims. aims to build a just,
balanced, and fair society. It establishes moral and
ethical requirements that individuals must meet. If
they don't, they'll be in trouble. Importance of Rules
are important in every culture or group. People who
live under a government are required to abide by
rules. Rules are essential for ensuring that families
and citizens may live happy, secure lives.
