Drawing Basics.

Drawing basics and Symmetrical Shapes are sharing a toast on the patio. Line and
Measurement their new restaurant has been born where darkie café died.
Walking up the steps to help them celebrate is Basic Shapes and her man The Artist’s Touch.
Symmetrical Shapes.
Draw simple symmetrical shapes.
Symmetrical adj.
If something like a circle is symmetrical it is the same on both sides of a centre point
or axis. When your face is the same in size, shape and proportions on both sides of
your nose, this is an example of a situation where your face would be described as
symmetrical.
Lines.
Use measurement lines to help with symmetry
Line is a word for a mark or stroke long in proportion to its breadth, made with a pen,
pencil, tool, etc., on a surface.
Measurements.
Make measurements by eye, ½, 1/3, ¼, 1/5.
Basic Shapes
Add detail from basic shapes i.e.
Oval becomes mouth.
Triangle becomes nose.
Oval becomes face etc.
The Artist’s touch.
To acquire the skill of making light and dark lines, render a closed shape then go over
and over the shape without lifting your pencil. Also change the pressure levels you
apply.
