Sales Order and Shipping Items

CMS can use sales orders to ship parts of an order full quantity. If we sell
items by delivering directly from supplier to facility, as a drop shipment
(Oxygen Cylinders), then we must also use sales orders. In all other
aspects, sales orders work the same way as sales invoices.

It’s an option also to do a Sales Quote (quotation) before a Sales Order

To initiate the shipping process, the source document (sales order, purchase
return order, and outbound transfer order) must be released.

The overview of the orders released for shipment is available from the shipment
list or from the pick worksheet, which shows all released shipping orders.

To continue the process of shipping, the items have to be picked.

The programs’ normal NAV processes are Sales Order >>> Warehouse
Shipment >>>Warehouse Picks.

NOTE: If Ship and Invoice is selected, the source document (the released sales order) is posted

As a result of posting, the program deleted the lines from the Warehouse
