Datchy Management system and maintenance

Subject: Maintenance in Your Country

We have seen in the course that maintenance is not simply a matter of ensuring that an
object performs the function required of it. Obviously there are many different strategies
with their own defects and qualities. Maintenance has a high cost due to the fact that it is
necessary to hire personnel, train them, comply with all the standards and have all the tools
necessary for proper operation. It is therefore necessary not to neglect the maintenance
part to the benefit of the production because without maintenance, we can very quickly find
ourselves with a very low quality coefficient which will also cost the company. Especially as it
will be necessary to output the nonconforming products.

Not so long ago in France we had a doctrine of corrective maintenance, we waited for the
problem to arrive in order to solve it directly, the advantage of this point is that we spend
costs only in a punctual way. If the breakdown that disturbs the production process has not
been anticipated by other types of maintenance, such as preventive maintenance, our
industrial technicians will take care of the resolution of the problem as soon as it occurs. This
is unplanned preventive maintenance or curative maintenance. To limit this cost,
industrialists opt for corrective maintenance, which consists in fixing the element causing the
problem at a lower cost and more quickly. (The task can be carried out by maintenance
technicians, team leaders, maintenance engineers)

In reality we discovered that finally this type of maintenance had a more important cost and
we turned (Technology helping) towards the emergence of the solutions of treatment and
analysis of the data as well as artificial intelligence to have thus a predictive maintenance,
we try to limit at most the risks of nonconforming product and rupture.

Concerning LIFO/FIFO, it all depends on the type of product stored, we will privilege the
method of the First In first Out for any perishable product (Milk, Food etc), all that it has a
time of conformity. For the products which are not taken by time, the method Last In First
Out is completely acceptable and used.

A clear relation can be made with the industry 4.0, as mentioned before, technology, AI and
any other computerization comes to support the maintenance to have an efficiency and
production rate always high
