Academia:

• K-3 Reading Experience

o Emily Hatton- McKinley Elementary School- Watertown
o Observed lessons through Writing and Phonics
o Helped conduct a game matching students with long and short vowel sounds and words
ending in e.
o In small group, I worked with Reading Mastery with students to firm their phonemic
awareness and build fluency
Professional:

• As a Music Teacher
o Created lesson plans that aligned with SD Music Education standards for grades K-12.
o Taught 30-minute lessons to grades K-12 and K-6 that both engage students and allows
them to build firm on their foundational music skills.
o Had parent-teacher relations throughout the school year regarding performance, behavior
and goals for students.
o Organized and facilitated music concerts and programs with multiple grades which
involved scheduling, assembling program notes, designing decorations, and facilitating
parent information.
• Substitute Teaching
o Substitute taught in Milbank, Ortonville, and Big Stone City
