ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT

Name of Project: Paz, Libertad, Antique – Seawall

Kind of Project: Coastal Infrastructure
Purpose of the Project: This project is to help prevent further erosion of the
shoreline of barangay Paz in Libertad, Antique.

Positive Impact

o It provides protection against coastal erosion, and flooding.

Reduce the effect of storm surges by acting as a barrier between
the inland structures and the shoreline. It also provide space for
birds and marine life to live and breed.

Negative Impact

o Seawall might interfere with some natural processes like habitat

migration. It will also be costly when it comes to construction
and maintenance. It wall also affects the availability of
sediment and will decrease the amenity value of the beach.
