The Alchemist – Part II
Read the questions and elaborate it with references from the text. Each
question carries 15 marks.
1 Publishers weekly has commended the novel in this way, “The story has the comic
charm, dramatic tension and psychological intensity of a fairy tale but it’s full of
specific wisdom as well…A sweetly exotic tale for young and old alike”. Prove this
statement through your evaluation of the novel and add references from the text.
2 Which golden life lessons you have observed in ‘The Alchemist’ and write how can you
relate them with your life?
Note: The assignment should be presented in an A-4 file by 2nd Jan 2023. Late submission
will not be accepted. Evaluation should be relevant to the text.
• Five marks will be awarded to correct use of language (syntax, vocabulary and use of
variety of tenses).
• 10 Marks will be awarded for the evaluation and providing relevant references with
suitable explanation from the novel.
