VISION BEFORE LIBERTY AND AFTER

Pakistan, a country in South Asia, was created in 1947 after a long and arduous struggle for
independence from British rule. The vision of the founding fathers of Pakistan was to establish a nation
that was based on the principles of Islam and that provided equality, justice, and prosperity to all its
citizens.

Before independence, the vision of a separate Muslim-majority state was primarily driven by the All
India Muslim League, which was formed in 1906. The League sought to protect the rights of Muslims and
to ensure that they were not marginalized in a Hindu-dominated India. The idea of Pakistan was first
proposed by Allama Iqbal in 1930 and was later endorsed by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who
became the main leader of the independence movement.

After independence, the vision of the founding fathers was reflected in the Constitution of Pakistan,
which was passed in 1956. The Constitution declared that Pakistan was to be a democratic state, where
the people were sovereign and where the rule of law was supreme. The Constitution also ensured that
the country would be based on the principles of social justice and equality, where the rights of
minorities were protected.

However, the vision of the founding fathers was not fully realized in the post-independence period.
Pakistan faced numerous challenges, including political instability, economic turmoil, and conflict with
neighboring India. As a result, the country has struggled to achieve the level of prosperity and stability
that was envisioned by the founding fathers.

Despite these challenges, the vision of Pakistan as a progressive and democratic nation continues to
inspire the people of the country. In recent years, there have been efforts to reinvigorate this vision,
with a focus on strengthening democracy, promoting economic growth, and improving the lives of all
Pakistanis. The country has made significant progress in some areas, including education, technology,
and infrastructure development, but much work remains to be done to fully realize the vision of the
founding fathers.

In conclusion, the vision of Pakistan before and after independence was to establish a country that was
based on the principles of Islam and that provided equality, justice, and prosperity to all its citizens.
Despite facing numerous challenges, this vision continues to inspire the people of Pakistan, and there
are efforts underway to reinvigorate it and achieve the aspirations of the founding fathers.
