DEFINITION OF TERMS

Self-esteem- refers to a person’s overall sense of his or her value or worth. It can be considered a sort of
measure of how much a person “values, approves of, appreciates, prizes, or likes him or herself” (Adler
& Stewart, 2004).

Public speaking skills- refer to the talent of effectively addressing an audience. Whether it is in front of a
group of people you already know or a crowd of complete strangers, your ability to communicate to
them with clarity and confidence is known as your public speaking skills.Personality trait-

Personality traits- reflect people’s characteristic patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Positive Correlation-both variables change in the same direction.

Neutral Correlation-No relationship in the change of the variables.

Negative Correlation- variables change in opposite directions.

HYPOTHESIS

This study is guided by a single null hypothesis HO1.

There is no significant relationship between Self-Esteem level and public speaking skills.
