JYOTI 1520F + JYOTI Hardener 1758

Description
JYOTI 1520 F is a solvent less unfilled epoxy resin which in combination with JYOTI 1758 cures in to a hard mass. JYOTI
1758 is a low viscosity, pale yellow, clear, polyamine based liquid. The curing of the resin compounds is a polyaddition
reaction which occurs at room temperature.

Areas of Application
JYOTI 1520 F + JYOTI 1758 system is suggested for:
• Binder resin for FRP lining & FRB component manufacture with excellent chemical resistant properties.
• Corrosion resistant finishing coat on mild steel & concrete structures.

Properties of cured material

JYOTI 1520F + JYOTI 1758 systems are characterized by low viscosity & fast curing at ambient temperature. The hard
cured mass has good mechanical, electrical, & chemical properties. The resin system can be used with higher filler loading.
The resin/hardener combination is used in electrical components of thermal class 180 (class H)

Application Method
°
JYOTI 1520 F & JYOTI 1758 should be mixed well at room temperature (20 to 40 C) and used within 30 to 40 minutes,
depending upon the temperature and quantity of mixture. The resin & hardener mixture is then use for intended application.
Contaminated tools & containers can be cleaned with Thinner 1221, before the resin system starts hardening.

Addition of filler
Dried fillers such as silica, talc, dolomite, mica can be incorporated depending upon the performance requirement.
°
Fillers shall be dried in oven at 150-200 C for 4-6 hours to remove moisture. Wherever vacuum mixing facilities are
°
available, fillers may be added to JYOTI 1504 under vacuum preferably at 50-60 C. Mould used for casting must first be
°
treats with a mould releasing agent. For this purpose, a baking finish of compound stored for 4-6 hours at 150 C and
polishing with silicone paste, thereafter, is best suited.

Safe Handling:
JYOTI 1520F has hardly any effect on skin and mucous membrane. JYOTI 1758 has vapours result in irritation to
mucous membrane and eyes. Its direct contact with skin can cause dermatitis associated with slight swelling and
itching or irritation. Direct contact with hardener as well as resin- hardener mix should be avoided by using necessary
hand gloves. Any area of skin affected should be scrubbed with 5% acetic acid and washed well with plenty of water.
