    Activity 1a) 
    Directions​: Each sentence contains words that can be turned into a 
    contraction. Change the words into a contraction using an apostrophe. 
     
    Example​: ​I am​ feeling sick today. 
    Answer: ​I’m​ feeling sick today. 
     
     
    1. We have​ had a long day. 

    2. I am​ beautiful. 

    3. It has​ been raining for an hour. 

    4. Do not​ talk when the ​teacher is​ talking. 

    5. She ​will not​ come to the party. 

    Activity 1b) 
    Directions​: Each sentence contains a contraction that can be separated into 
    two words. Separate the contraction into the words it combines. 
     
    Example​: ​I’m​ going to the grocery store. 
    Answer: ​I am​ going to the grocery store. 
     
    1. If it ​doesn’t​ stop raining, I ​won’t​ be able to go for a run. 

    2. It’s​ almost bedtime. 

    3. The kids ​aren’t​ laughing at my jokes. 

    4. We’ll​ see you tomorrow. 

    5. I’m​ going to be late.
