Owing to the fact that people’s demand for travel is increasing, tourism is

increasingly promoted and developing in the world. In my opinion, everything has pros
and cons;, tourism development benefits the community but it also negatively affects the
environment. This essay will give an insight into both sides of the issue.
To begin with, there is no doubt that tourism plays an important role in economic
development. It brings a large demand for services from tourists and creates a driving
force for business to develop their economy. Secondly, tTourism helps reduce the
unemployment rate within a region. When tourists arrive at their travel destination, their
demand for food, entertainment, experiences, and accommodation will increase, so more
restaurants and shops will open up, creating job opportunities for people. Another
important advantage is that tourism development makes it possible for local areas to have
more state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities. All investors will invest in infrastructure
systems such as roads, hospitals, convenience stores and so on.….
In contrast, tTourism development has a negative impact on life. One of the
drawbacks of tourism is the severe damage to the environment of a country or an area. In
the first place, more and more natural resources such as water, energy, and soil are
exploited due to the increase in visitor numbers, which may lead to the depletion of local
resources.  Secondly, there is a pollution problem. Many cities and towns become
overcrowded with tourists, with all their vehicles causing traffic jams as well as air and
noise pollution.  Another bad effect of tourism is the destruction of wildlife in some
places. The habitat of wild plants and animals is lost because of the building of resorts,
and visitors' activities. To sum up, the development of tourism has an adverse impact on
the environment.
In conclusion, for all the points mentioned above, t. The development of tourism has
both benefits and disadvantages, so we need to have the right control over it and prevent
the damage caused by tourism.
