Date: 26.01.23 Note for Approval Subject: Payment of EDM-T&D for logistics, installation and commissioning of a 44MVA. transformer at JSPL substation in Yr. 2021 ‘This is with reference to service requisition no 7000004744 to make the onetime payment to EDM T&D division against their services we availed in February 2021.As we aware that in February 2021, our main 20MVA transformer had winding failure and which was caused complete power shutdown in plant and connected districts from our substation namely MARARA, CHITIMA, MAGUE ete was also faced power outage. This power outage of 2-3 days was huge loss to us as plant operation was completely stopped. Consequently the EDM team was rush to help us on the directive of Tete government as it was matter of public interest as well. They had arranged a 44MVA transformer (120 Ton weight) for us and transported it from TETE to our substation. All costs of logistics, handling, crane arrangement, manpower arrangement, testing and commissioning at site were done by the EDM team even during the peak pandemic period. Now, when our transformer is back after being repaired, we want to install and commission it and send back the EDM's transformer ‘The EDM team has charged us with the cost of the arrangement of transformers, including everything from logistics to commissioning. Their initial proposal was to cost us 13,126,072.80 MZN.As we have a long business partnership and mutual cooperation with EDM, they accepted our request to discount us on the total value and their final proposal is '9,500,000.00 MZN if we manage to pay the whole amount by end of February 2023, ‘As EDM is our long-term partner and helps us in a time of emergency, it is advisable to pay the outstanding 9.5 Million MZN to EDM by the end of February 2023.
