Setting up a Translational Mesh Motion Simulation in AcuSolve

Step 1: Assigning the moving nodes
a) In the AcuConsole GUI expand the Model panel and right click on
nodes and click on define.
b) Define the mesh displacement in the Y-direction by expanding the
nodes_moving panel.
c) In the mesh motion panel, assign the following parameters
 Type: Linear
 Mesh Motion: MM_Trans (procedure for defining this is
mentioned in the next step)
 Curve Fit Variable: Y-direction
d) Click on curve fit values and enter the start and end co-ordinates.
This data can be obtained from the CAD geometry.

Step 2: Defining Mesh Motion
a) In the model tree, click on All and expand the Global panel.
b) Right click on Mesh motion and click define

c) Double click on MM_trans to open the definition panel.

d) Type: Translation Velocity Variable: Run Time


e) Under Translation velocity, click on Open Array
f) Define the Y-velocity of the piston.

g) Assign this motion to the moving nodes by toggling the mesh
motion panel.
