Without doubt, the problem of poverty, hunger, lack of potable water has already proven to be

widespread and brings about a number of consequences leading to the suffering of mankind. This
growing problem is especially evident in Africa and to be able to help/to remedy the situation/to
alleviate the problem, governments need to provide a set of sustainable solutions/to take effective
action.

Millions of people in Africa are at imminent risk of death because of starvation/malnutrition. One of
the ways by which African governments can be of help is through the implementation of policies and
legislations which should aim at/ towards the improvement of the quality of life and the reduction of
poverty. There is a need for scientific innovation also. For instance, agricultural improvements such
as through biotechnology can be initiated by the African government. Furthermore, charitable
institutions, donations, and foreign aids from rich nations/developed countries should also be
encouraged to provide them with the financial assistance which will be required for these measures.

Lack of financial resources leads to having water without proper sanitation, and inevitably leads to
diseases and even child deaths basically because of drinking dirty water. Governments can be part of
the solution by being more active in the pursuit for having clean and sanitized water in order to
prevent contamination. They must find ways to extend the necessary financial aid allowing everyone
to have access to water which is safe and free from any disease-causing bacteria. Another solution is
to facilitate different educational programs within smaller communities. For instance, they can be
taught sanitary techniques, especially in the treatment of contaminated water. In this way, they will
be able to have clean water despite the limited access to such resource.

To sum up, many people believe that it is impossible to end these problematic/critical issues.
However, I think that through collaborative efforts, especially between governments, it would be
possible to put an end to famine and provide access to drinking water for African citizens.

Throughout the continent of Africa, thousands of people are affected by/struggle with hunger each
year and there are too many factors that contribute to this……

The main causes of hunger in Africa are the change in climate, lack of education, governments,
growing population but most important poverty. Many people in Africa don't have jobs and for that
reason they don't have enough money to buy food for their families. Water scarcity affects millions
of Africans. Without water, they are not guaranteed a steady food supply, since farmers cannot raise
crops or livestock. Illnesses caused by unclean water and sanitation kill about a lot of children every
day.
