Personal statement
My heart is cold, clouded and gravity oppressed but I warm it with love and empathy. My eyes
gleam with light and my smile beautifully arches my face not because I am happier at the end
of the day, but because I choose happiness. There is a blend of emotions and feelings, with a
pinch of nostalgia when writing about my life. It is interesting how any person can become
whoever he or she desires, there is a way the cosmos arrange opportunities to meet those who
prepare for opportunities. I just grew up knowing that if I wish to become that fulfilled
world changer and global leader I need to be on top of my game being relentless, unbent and
unbowed, dynamically and actively pushing and making quality decisions with guidance from the
"giants" the universe blessed my life with. My grandma was the first giant I saw in my life,
even though the scenes are blurred in my mind these days being all grown up, I can vividly
remember the soothing and unique smell on the sofa, the meals she cooked for me and the songs
she sang to my weeping heart when I could not sleep in the night because I was afflicted by a
disease. I grew up understanding that I live with my grandma and my mom was abandoned by my
dad. I grew up with a lot of fear and uncertainty in my heart. I always thought I lacked a
complete upbringing but the more I grew up I realized I actually had one of the greatest
opportunities in life, "the ability to explore and understand life or myself". Being
fatherless made me realize how important responsibility is. My mom and grandma would wake up a
great while in the night and start preparing for the day ahead because we needed to eat and
survive it made me understand that by no circumstance will I need to abandon my family even if
it kills me! I discerned that the more I grew up the more I had the power to grow, learn and

relearn a whole lot of important tools for living a successful life and overall becoming the
giant I wish to become. One of the cool things I learned was to be humble. A poor person can
easily be Identified with humility. But real humility springs out of a goal-oriented heart. I
wake up at exactly 4:00 am every morning to meditate, realign my life, think my wrongdoings
through, thank God for life and work my chest off to support my family not because I have to,
but because I am humble enough to lend a helping hand to my family, and prevent them from
overworking, living a workaholic life and throwing away their longevity for my sake. I am
humble enough to always pay violent attention to what people passionately articulate because
it is beautiful how nuggets of wisdom are embedded in those articulations. I spend a lot of my
hours observing and understanding people and the world because I believe that everything in
this world one way or the other, benefits humanity and if I want humanity to benefit from me,
I have to watch and learn from humanity. So, the summary of what I stand for is basically, the
background pretty much do not really matter if you know where you are going. You just have to
come to the understanding that, the more you grow up the more power you have to make
life-changing decisions.
