grade teaching position open in the Brea Olinda Unified School District. I received my
Bachelor’s in Communicative Disorders from Cal State Fullerton in 2015, my multiple
subject credential from Hope International University in 2019, and a Master’s Degree in
Educational Technology from Cal State Fullerton in 2021. I have worked in elementary
schools for 13 years in different capacities - 8 years in a child development center
where I ran a preschool/after school care program, 1 year as substitute teacher, and 4
years as a 4th grade teacher. I have also held the role as my school’s elementary choir
director for 2 years, where I get to combine my passion of teaching with my passion for
vocal music.
I consider myself a teacher leader because of the way I interact with colleagues in a
respectful, collaborative manner. With my Master’s in educational technology, I have
been able to support colleagues with technology integration in their classrooms and
introduce new applications for both teacher and student use. This directly impacts
student learning because it provides new ways for students to learn through engaging
platforms. My number one priority as a teacher, and what I consider to be my greatest
strength, is relationship building with students. I accomplish this through fun learning
opportunities and social-emotional classroom community activities. I make sure each
day that students know my classroom is a safe space where they are loved and cared
for.
