Redevelopment of Chandni Chowk

Chandni chowk is one of the oldest and busiest market. In order to revive it's beautification
and maintain its historical architectural character. Chandni chowk, underwent a major revamp
program by Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation and Delhi's Public Works
department. This Redevelopment project divided into 2 phases. In the first phase, the Delhi
government revamped the 1.3Km stretch with red sandstone and granite pavement between
the Red fort and Fatehpuri Masjid, the mesh of overhead wires has gone underground, red
sandstone seats being placed and toilets and several CCTV cameras. The First phase of
redevelopment was completed in 2021.

The Delhi government will soon begin the 2nd phase of the redevelopment project. This time,
the government is focusing on the beautification of the historical architecture in the area. As
per the report, the project will also envisage unification of the facades of heritage buildings,
colour and signage schemes for shops, facade illumination and more

First is NAI SARAK - this market is meant for padhaku bachas like vaishu, Mushkan and Anjali . it has
books in other languages, and basically books related to just everything. These can be new or
previously used, but they will always be in a good condition.

KINARI BAZARS – SBH ma’am can visit this market for Sarees as it deals with Zari and Zardozi
trimmings and tinsel, fabrics, borders, laces. , you can also find fancy party wear here.

BHAGIRATH PALACE - want to decorate ur house in Diwali then what are u waiting for visit Bhagirath
