Situation: Trading of commodities such as coffee or avocados. Coffee is said to be


originally from Ethiopia and consumed in the Arabid region. Nonetheless, due to
commercial trades after the 11th century, it is nowadays known as a globally consumed
commodity.

Because cultural globalization refers to the transmission of ideas, meanings and values
around the world in such a way as to extend and intensify social relations.

Ecological Globalization

Situation: The Paris Climate Agreement can be considered Ecological Globalization. It


is an international agreement signed by almost 195 countries in December 2015, Paris
France to make all nations an action plan to combat climate change and its negative
effects. One of its goals is to bind international and universal agreements to significantly
reduce global greenhouse gas emissions in order to limit global temperature rise this
century to 2 degrees Celsius above before preindustrial levels. All signed countries
have agreed to reduce their global warming pollution and to strengthen those
responsibilities over time.

This Paris Climate Agreement can be classified as Ecological Globalization since it


refers to the binding of the nation-state action plans to combat climate change across
the globe and to address some current global environmental issues.
