JOB VACANCY ADVERTISEMENTS


The Arusha Technical College (ATC) is a statutory body, Public
Technical Institution which was established by the National Council
for Technical Education (Arusha Technical College) Establishment
Order, 2007, GN. No. 78 of 30th March 2007 and later in 2015 the
Instrument which established it was revoked and replaced by the
National Council for Technical Education (The Grant of Autonomous
Status to the Arusha Technical College) Order, 2015 GN. No. 302 of
24th July, 2015.

The major functions of the College are Academic, Research and


Consultancy. Thus, consultancy being one of its functions, the
College through its Bureau for Production and Consultancy Services
(ATC-PCB), is implementing consultancy services for various
construction projects within the country mainly using Force
Account Mode of implementation.

Therefore, the Rector of Arusha Technical College announces to all


Tanzania citizens with competency, qualifications and experience to
apply for the posts mentioned below:

1. CLERK OF WORKS (Posts: 22)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED;
Holder of bachelor degree in one of the followings: Civil
Engineering, Civil and Irrigation Engineering Architecture, Quantity
Surveying, Civil and Highway Engineering or Transportation
engineering. The applicant MUST be registered by relevant
Professional Boards which are Engineers Registration Board and
Architects and Quantity Surveyor Registration Board (ERB&AQRB).
Experience of three (3) years and above in similar works will be
added advantage.

2. ASSISTANT CLERKS OF WORKS (Posts : 23)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED;
Holder of diploma or FTC in the followings: Civil Engineering, Civil
and Irrigation Engineering, Architecture, Civil and Highway
engineering or Transportation Engineering. The applicant MUST be
registered by relevant Professional Boards which are Engineers
Registration Board and Architects and Quantity Surveyor
Registration Board (ERB&AQRB) in his/her appropriate academic
qualification. Experience of three (3) years and above in similar
works will be added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

i. Supervise day to day activities for the project;


ii. Conduct site meeting and update progress of work to project
Manager;
iii. Ensure quality, quantity and efficiency of work done on daily
basis;
iv. Ensure safety at the construction site;
v. Monitoring financial cash flows for the project (including bank
statement for the project);

vi. Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and completion/final project
reports;
vii. Prepare payment certificates to local fundi’s for evaluated
works by cooperating with project committee;
viii. Collaborate with Inspection and Acceptance Committee to
inspect and accept the materials/tools/equipment delivered to
the site.
ix. Advise the Project Committees on the quality and quantity of
work done
x. Prepare final account at the practical completion of the
project;
xi. Help in recruitments of Local Fundi’s in collaboration with
Project Committee;
xii. Review the labour prices as per negotiations by considering
the nature of work versus the filled prices.
xiii. Collaborate with project committees to identify list of materials
to be used in every stage of construction/renovation and
submit it to the Project Manager for approval;
xiv. Initiate materials to be procured (Call of Order) from approved
list of materials above;
xv. Clarifying and interpreting materials specification including
Laboratory testing results and;
xvi. Perform any other duty as directed by the Project Manager
under project Team.
BENEFITS

Competitive package with other statutory benefits such as 10%


monthly basic salary to the social security fund, 0.5% to WCF, and
3% to NHIF will be provided.

The applicant MUST be a Tanzanian citizen aged 18 years or over
