One of the most common problems in society is teenage pregnancy. Teenage

Pregnancy has infected our schools, homes and community, but what is the major

community in Manchester was carried out by the researcher. He became interested in

this topic after seeing teens his age fall out of school because of them becoming

pregnant. Here you will see a breakdown of how the data was collected and analyzed.

11 out of school, these were between the ages of 12-19 years.

The questionnaires were printed and given out on November 10, 2022 and were left

for the participants to answer within a given week. On November 17-18, 2022 the

researcher collected all completed questionnaires and is now ready to be tallied.

As you can see 65% of these teenagers got pregnant outside of the use of alcohol the

remaining 35% said it was the main reason for their pregnancy.

ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

It was researched that a large number of young women are pregnant, this causes the
teenage pregnancy rate to be on the increase. These young females are mainly
pregnant because of sexual abuse, this was reflected in figure 1.1. They also fall
victims because of peer pressure faced by themselves which forces them to find a
different way out. Although some of them are also in the situation because of curiosity
this has placed them in a bad position.

Figure 1.1 shows that most pregnant teens got pregnant outside the use of alcohol,
while the rest got pregnant due to alcohol usage. 65% of the females that took the
survey said no to alcohol being the cause of them becoming pregnant while the
remaining 35% said that it was the main reason for their pregnancy.

NB: CONCLUDE NOW FOR EACH OPTIONS, EG, 65% of teens were
drinking any alcohol that led them in becoming pregnant. Other reasons resulted
in the cause of their pregnancy. The remaining 35% become pregnant due to
alcohol consumption. This was so due to being at a social event and they consume
alcoholic beverages resulting in intoxicatedness or not being in control causing
them to sexual acts which results in them getting pregnant.
Now conclude all your other options

Figure 1.2 shows that a significant proportion of teenagers became pregnant due to
sexual abuse, while 25% was due to peer pressure, 5% due to curiosity and the
remainder because they had lack of information about sex. Teens' peers play a
significant role in decision making, which most often put them on the wrong path.
70% of these young women often become depressed, feeling bad about what
Happened to them.

Table 1.3 reflects that 56% of teenagers become pregnant due to lack of parental
supervision, 22% get pregnant because of following friends, 80% because of living in
poverty and it was the choice to become pregnant by 37% of these teenagers.
STATEMENT OF FINDINGS

The survey has revealed that a number of reasons resulted in teenagers getting
pregnant at a young age. The findings are as follows:

I. A little above half (65%) of these young girls denied alcohol being the

reason for them becoming pregnant.

II. A large number (35%) of these teenagers stated that being sexually abused

was the main reason for them becoming pregnant.

III. More than half (80%) of these young girls stated that poverty was the main reason

for them becoming pregnant causing them to be thrown out to live on their own.

CORRECTIONS FROM YOUR GRAPHS AND ANALYSIS

RECOMMENDATIONS AND IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGY

NB: READ OVER AND SEE IF IT SOUNDS LIKE A SOLUTION

Reducing the high level of teenage pregnancy is very important. Through a lot of

presentations itself to help lower this high rising problem. The implementation of a

joint teacher, parent and children program which could be used to bond parents and

teachers to the child which seeks to educate them on sex. This may expand the Child’s

trust in both the teacher and parents which would allow them to participate in the

children's day to day life.

The roles of the guidance counselors should be broadened especially in the school

system. An increased level of emphasis should be placed on educating these young

teens about the use of contraceptives. As revealed in the research the majority of these

young adults were knowledgeable about the use of contraceptives but they still fell

behind in the parenthood trip because they started having sex before the time.

IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY
The guidance counsellors can guide and council teenagers at school by giving
these teens are given the right instruction and educate them about sexual activities and
its effects. This assistance in the school can reach out to most students who have been
parents to help reduce teenage pregnancy.
