SMART Goals

The acronym SMART highlights a different aspect of your desired outcome.

Regardless if your goals are personal or professional, writing them down will
help you achieve them. Using a process like SMART ensures that you don't
miss any critical details and allows for a clear objective if you're working on
your goals with a team.
Specific
Make your goals specific and narrow for more effective planning. Be as
clear and specific as possible with what you want to achieve.**Example**: - I
want to pay off $10,000 business debt
Measurable
Define what evidence will prove you're making progress and reevaluate
when necessary.**Example**:- We can measure progress by monitoring our
cash accounts and break down how we are doing month to month.
Achievable
Make sure you can reasonably accomplish your goal within a certain
timeframe.**Example**:- We will achieve this by spending less on growth-
goal items and will work to encourage vendors to pay on time in full.
Relevant
Your goals should align with your values and long-term
objectives.**Example**:- We will highlight low-cost development and project
opportunities throughout the year that can also increase revenue.
Time-bound
Set a realistic, ambitious end-date for task prioritization and
motivation.**Example**:- We will achieve this within 30 months.
