Majority of adults spend their most time at work.

Job satisfaction is said to be an essential

element of individual well-being. This essay presents what factors contribute to their
satisfaction at working and my personal opinion on how realistic is the expectation of job
satisfaction for all workers.

To begin with, a satisfied feeling comes from an expectation that has been fulfilled. In other
words, employees' contentment can be obtained by fulfilling their expectations. Therefore,
there is a factor that contributes to their satisfaction at working, such as an appropriate
salary. That is because, if the wage is not decent, the laborers might think the salary is not
equal, compared to the effort that they have used.

Furthermore, the expectation of job satisfaction for all workers to be fulfilled is unrealistic. In
fact, individuals have their own expectations. As a result, those who have high expectations
tend to find it hard to have contentment in their work, and vice versa, those who set their
expectation low, they potentially tend to find it is easier to get satisfied than the higher one.
Besides that, not all workers are able to rate themselves, for example, some workers expect
they might gain a high salary, even though they are not capable of yielding a proper
outcome, according to the requirement that is asked.

In conclusion, the main reason why employees can have job satisfaction is their expectation
that can be fulfilled. There is also a factor that contributes to their satisfaction at working, it is
an adequate salary. In addition, the expectation of job satisfaction for all workers to be
fulfilled is unrealistic.
