ESSAY – STREET SMARTS VS BOOK SMARTS

The Understanding of human’s mind can be classified as one of the various

ancient disciplines ever known. The question for whatever are the individual man
or woman thoughts inside the brain has disturbed the mankind for many years.
That is why comes out to light the classification of different human’s behaviors, in
which some commonly known are “The street smart and the book smart people”.

Being a street smart people means you are aware of situations in which difficult
choices can be made according to past experiences. It means you have learned
how to take what has happened to you, think about it and learn to improve it for
good or bad. On the other hand, a book smart person can be considered as
someone who has a life experience through the books and school learning. Book
smarts can be attached to rules and moral behaviors. So, finally, it can be
concluded that the main difference between both, street and book smart people, is
the way of knowledge acquisition.

In my opinion, I consider myself as a book smart person because I’ve spent mostly
of my twenty one years old inside the classrooms and behind books or computers.
Although, I’ve been working at my parents business in a little grocery store for
about six or seven years. I can say that working at these places allow you to meet
people’s behavior when picking articles for their living, which certainly it can be
complicated sometimes. It’s a place where you have to deal with people’s mood in
a really polite way.

There are situations in which I’d rather being a street smart person because these
kinds of people can appreciate things better than I do. The street smart people can
see the beauty where the book smart can’t due to the difficult situations they have
been through.
In conclusion, my personal opinion about the best people’s experiences is that
these can be achieved by keeping an equal proportion of both learning types. I
mean, doing the effort of being either a good street smart or a good book smart
person.
