Give at least two (2) superstitious beliefs

that you and even your family are still adhering even up to this modern age. Share your
experience.

1.) When Friday falls on the 13th day of the month, accidents are more liable to happen. Since I was a
kid, this was often said to us especially elders. There were times when I was a kid I got into an accident
during that time. Which made me believe about this. Up to the present time, if I can avoid going out
during Friday the 13th, I would rather stay at home so I can avoid accidents.

2.) A spoon falling from the dining table means a lady guest; a fork means the guest will be a man. This
one was somewhat a funny belief and yet growing up in the province I have witnessed many instances
this happened. Whenever we have family gatherings, when spoon fell from the dining table, we always
look up the door and see who is coming in. Funny it seems that female visitors came by, but there were
also times when no one comes. Still, we believe this one.
