MOTION TO SET BOND

Comes Now, the defendant, Lamar Vickerstaff Jr. (Vickerstaff) by and

through his attorney of record, David Dawson and requests a bond be set in the

above styled cases and shows unto the Court the following in the support thereof:

1. Vickerstaff, 51 years old, was raised in Lee County by his mother who,

retired from Auburn University, still lives in Lee County. Vickerstaff joined the

United States Navy after graduating from Opelika High School. He has achieved

the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer, E-8, the second-highest enlisted rank

achievable in the United States Navy.

2. Vickerstaff’s reputation, character, and health are excellent as demonstrated

by his achievements in the Navy.

3. Vickerstaff has no prior criminal record.

4. Vickerstaff’s mother, the only member of the community he has maintained

contact, will vouch for his reliability.

5. The offenses charged are very serious, however the apparent probability of

conviction is low.

6. There is no evidence of a weapon used in the alleged offenses.

7. There is no evidence of any threats made against witnesses.

8. Vickerstaff has honorable served in the United States Navy, this service

included permanent change of stations (PCS) to Hawaii and Florida as well as

deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and Haiti. His last PCS was to Jacksonville

Florida, where he purchased a home.
