You will join a highly skilled and motivated team of experts. As a Certification Expert, you will contribute to aviation safety
and environmental compatibility by providing technical expertise to guide and permit decisions in initial airworthiness

certification, continuing airworthiness and environmental compatibility at aircraft, equipment, and engine level. In
addition, you will support other core technical activities of the Agency.
AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?*
To be admitted to the selection process you must meet the following general and job-specific criteria:
Thorough knowledge of one of the languages of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another
language of the EU to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties 1
Be a national of a Member State of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland
Completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma in the area of Aeronautical Engineering,
Computer Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or in a similar
discipline demonstrating the ability to work as a Certification Expert
Proven professional experience of at least 2 years in at least ONE of the areas of either fixed wing aircraft or rotorcraft
products:
o Avionics systems (e.g. Autoflight systems or All-Weather Operations (AWO) or Communications, Navigation,
Surveillance (CNS) or displays, alerting and recording systems, or Integrated Modular Avionic (IMA), ETSO
avionics equipment) OR
o Electrical systems (e.g. Electrical Generation / Distribution systems, EMC, HIRF, Lightning, EWIS, High Voltage
Systems, Batteries, Fuel Cell) OR
o Hydromechanical systems (e.g. flight control systems – conventional and/or fly by wire, high lift systems,
fuselage doors, landing gear systems, wheels and brakes, hydraulic systems);
Very good command of both written and spoken English 2
* This vacancy is open as well to Temporary Agents (2f) employed at EASA, in the grade bracket AD 5 – AD 9.

Professional experience obtained in the field of design, development, modelling, certification and/or testing of
fixed wing aircraft or VTOL under the scope of at least one of the disciplines (avionics, electrical, hydromechanical)
Knowledge of technical and safety requirements relevant to of fixed wing aircraft or VTOL as shown by training
or experience
Proven knowledge and experience with the application of certification processes, techniques, methods and tools
applied at aircraft, system or equipment level, to demonstrate compliance with the Certification Specifications
and applicable Acceptable Means of Compliance, relevant to the specific discipline (Part 21 – Initial Airworthiness
and Continued Airworthiness in accordance with EASA standards)
General understanding of fixed wing aircraft or VTOL operations
A good understanding of state of recent developments, current and future challenges and major areas of
discussion in areas relevant to one or more of the disciplines (on either fixed wing aircraft or VTOL products)
A good understanding of the Validation processes
Behavioural competencies
Problem Solving: Being able to anticipate and identify obstacles by systematic and critical analysis, involving internal
stakeholders in the analysis but also in the development of solutions and decisions, proportionate to the cases in
question
Quality orientation: Demonstrate consistency in delivering results that are in line with quality expectations and
ability to effectively strike a balance between enablers for results
Stakeholder orientation: Anticipates stakeholder needs and investigates how these may be met in an effective and
efficient manner while balancing safety matters and risks. Acts with internal and external stakeholders in mind
Learning agility: Ability to grasp new and complex matters quickly and transfer knowledge to unfamiliar situations

process will be conducted remotely, and it will include interview(s) and test(s). To be included in the talent pool, you will
need to have received at least 65% of the maximum points in the final assessment phase. Depending on the needs of the
Agency, the established pool of talents may be used for recruitment of the same or similar vacant position of the same
