My name is Dinda, my place of birth is September 28, 1996. I am currently in the 5th semester at
Upgris, Semarang City. I created this poem inspired by Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861) was
one of the most famous English poets of the Victorian era. The Portuguese sonnet, published in 1850,
is one of the most popular collections of love poems in the English language, and was considered by
critics to be excellent work.

My brief bio
My name is Izzatur Rifda, the youngest children in my big family, i am Javanese, I was born and
attended school in my lovely village, from elementary school until high school. And my self
experience, I have worked as cashier and SPG for 4 years i am happy because i mate new people
every day then I continued my education and decided to be student in PGRI University.
To be student is one of my dreams that's come true, and of course, my parents are happiness know
that one of their children are a student.

Short Biography

Ananda Latifah Azhar Rachma Nabila is a student at one of the campuses in Semarang, namely PGRI
University Semarang. Born in Semarang on April 29, 2001. She is often called Bella or Nabila by her
friends. Currently, she is studying at the Department of English Education, Faculty of Language and
Arts Education, UPGRIS. In one of her courses, namely poetry, Nabila wrote a poem entitled
Freedom, which was inspired by her childhood experience when she was too shy to do anything.

For Nabila as the second child of four siblings, learning a foreign language is something that is
challenging and very fun, and she has aspirations to become an English lecturer. She hopes that one
day she can teach at the campus where she is studying now.

About the Author

Fitroh ainur rizqi, a 5th semester English Education student at PGRI University Semarang, who was
born in Tegal, April 17, 2001. The second child of one brother who has a hobby of singing and
listening to music with the pop music genre. Writing poetry is a new thing for me, but writing poetry
is something that is very interesting because writing poetry can describe or tell someone's heart and

Hello, my name is Salsabella Noviyanto Putri but you can call me Bella. I was born in the capital city
of Central Java, namely Semarang City on November 5, 2000, and now I am 21 years old. I am the
2nd child and have an older brother. Now I'm studying at PGRI Semarang University majoring in
English education. In my free time, I love reading books but only self-improvement books and I
collect those types of books at home or listen to my favorite songs on Spotify. I wrote a poem entitled
“She is me” with the theme of loving yourself. Which poetry is based on my life journey to try to
accept myself and believe that I am enough. The process is long, tiring but I have to keep trying and
believe I can do it, not perfect but it's worth it to do. Through this poem, I invite all of you to love and

Yellow Sunflower

I remember walking through a meadow of sunflowers

Watching an enchanting scene only for my eyes to enjoy alone
As nature gives me a room with a blessed view
I bask in the warm sun on the last day of June

I remember photographing a field of roses

Looking at the picture, a happy face is all I recognize
Yet I can't forget how the pierce of hollowness
Makes me want to scream my head in agonize

I quietly stare the golden miles of dawn

Under the great sky of solitude and soleness
My tears drop knowing my summer is long gone
Murmuring to fears, can I fight this loneliness?

And the yellow sunflower by the brook

Surounded by wild roses, so strange how it looks
Forced to live in this place full of misery
Can I hang on my last bit of sanity?

Short Biography

Maulida Dewi Fajriawardani or known as Maulida, is a student in Universitas PGRI Semarang.

Currently, she's majoring in English Education Department, Faculty of Language and Art of UPGRIS

Born in Tegal on 13 June, 2000. She enjoys playing music instrument like guitar, reading book and
cycling. She is a pretty nice young woman and truthfull, but can also have a little bit of temper and
love to be in solitude.

In Poetry class, she wrote a poem entitled 'Yellow Sunflower'. This poem inspired based on the hard
time she faced when she was younger. At that time, she was at the lowest point of her life, and really
struggle to overcome all the bad emotion that was bottled for a long time. She wants to share a bit
piece of the hurt mind through this poem, so anyone who reads this could know that it's okay not to be
okay, the bad time will pass and you'll find your very own happiness, soon.
