Tourism Policy
ABSTRACT
A country's tourism policy is an important part of growing its tourism industry. It tells the people in
charge of the tourism business what their jobs are and how to do them. Some things that a standard
tourism policy should have are a focus on macro-level policies, a long-term view, encouraging and
stimulating activities, and so on. If we look at Bangladesh's tourism policy, we can see that some things
are there and some aren't. So, if we want to make a standard tourism policy, we'll need to find out
what's missing and fix it. If we can move forward in the right way, we'll be able to make a tourism policy,
and as a result, the tourism sector will add more to our economy.
INTRODUCTION
Policy is a set of rules that are made on purpose to help people make good decisions and get good
results. A tourism policy is a set of rules, regulations, policies, goals, development/promotion goals, and
strategies that guide how decisions are made and have an immediate effect on the long-term growth of
tourism and daily operations in a destination. Bangladesh has a plan for tourism, just like many other
countries. In 1992, the government made the first rules about tourism. In 2009, the government
changed its tourism strategy to keep the process going and meet the rising demand for travel around
the world. The Bangladesh National Tourism Policy became law on December 14, 2009. The policy is
carried out by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, and the
Bangladesh Tourism Board, which is the National Tourism Organization (NTO). Bangladesh has a huge
amount of potential for tourism. Like the world's longest beach at Cox's Bazar, the beautiful beach at
Kuakata, the Sundarbans mangrove forest, the Padma, the Meghna, and the Jumuna rivers, and so on.
All of these tourist attractions can be advertised to tourists around the world with the help of good
planning, strategy, and an integrated work plan. Each country should have a well-thought-out plan for
tourism.
DISCUSSION
From a tourism policy, we can see how tourism in a country or region as a whole grows. It tries
to set up a structure so that the destination can give travelers a high-quality experience. As we all know,
the main goal of tourism policy is to make sure that destinations are successful and offer a wide range of
economic and social benefits for all parties involved by creating jobs and making money.
Bangladesh's tourism policy is multidisciplinary because it focuses on growing tourism at the national,
regional, and zonal levels. We have an integrated policy for tourism that we plan to put into action in the
short and medium term.We have a number of tourist destinations, and we are taking steps to improve
them. In this way, we make sure that the limited resources we have can meet the needs we see. When
putting tourism policy into action, we often cross traditional industry sector lines. We also notice that our
policy on tourism is missing some important things.
Conclusion
Bangladesh has a lot of unique things to offer visitors, and tourism could be a big part of the country's
social and economic growth. Bangladesh needs tourism policies that are based on facts and are
supported by the government, the private sector, and the nonprofit sector if it wants to become a
successful and long-lasting tourist destination. Bangladesh needs to make plans and put them into
action to take advantage of these chances. There are many problems with this study. Bangladesh has a
lot of unique things to offer visitors, and tourism could be a big part of the country's social and economic
growth. Bangladesh needs tourism policies that are based on facts and are supported by the
government, the private sector, and the nonprofit sector if it wants to become a successful and long-
lasting tourist destination. If we want to be competitive and last for a long time, we need to pay
attention to a few things. We can see that our tourism business is very competitive. We don't think
about how long we can keep going, though. Waste management, water quality management, wildlife
management, and site protection will all need more work. There isn't enough research on tourism in
Bangladesh and there isn't enough information about it. But there needs to be more research on the
policy, planning, and management of tourism in Bangladesh to find out what is holding it back and what
it can do to grow in a way that is successful and long-lasting.
