The Beauty of Rain

One summer day, it rained all the time, or rather it was a downpour with wind,
thunder, and lightning. In our house, the electricity was turned off, so neither the computer
nor the TV worked. We couldn't even listen to music because we had to turn off our cell
phones due to the thunder. I was alone at home and I felt sad because I couldn't talk to
anybody. My mood extremely deteriorated. The room was dark because of the rain so I
couldn't even read a book. I walked to the window behind which the storm raged. After the
rain washed the leaves, they became even brighter. However, the flowers in the garden
were not afraid of the rain at all. They swayed from the wind that shook their beautiful buds
happily drinking fresh moisture. Huge drops joyfully hit the ground, creating bubbles. The
storm passed and the wind subsided, but the rain did not stop pouring. Then I opened the
window and listened to its steady noise. I liked the sound of the rain because it was relaxing
and satisfying. The sound varied depending on where the drops fell. The rain gently rustled
on the leaves of the tree, persistently knocked on the metal roofs, and merrily splashed
against the puddles. That summer rain increased and subsided, but I still could not tear
myself away from the window...
Later in the evening, the sun came out and quickly dried the ground. The rain washed away
the dust from the roads, watered the plants with life-giving moisture, and freshened the air.
I liked to observe what was happening in nature. I no longer felt lonely that day, because I
had a new good friend - the summer rain.
