2. ¿How many modes of transport does the video describe?

The video shows seven modes of transport; they are:

a. Terrestrial: it is very versatile, due to its speed versus the ability to

provide door to door service, as an example we have: tractors,

buses, vans, among others.

b. Air: is considered any activity whose purpose is the transfer of

passengers or cargo by aircraft, from one place to another. It is one

of the safest and most expensive modes of transport.

c. Maritime: can move people (passengers) or things (solid, liquido r

gaseous cargo) by sea from one geographic point to another on

board a ship. This transport in the world is the most used mode for

international trade. It is the one that supports the greatest movement

of goods, both in container and dry or liquid bulk. It is also said that it

is the cheapest transport.

d. Ferrous: it is a long distance and low speed system used on a

regular basis for the transport of raw materials (coal, Wood, cereals

and chemicals) and manufactured products of low value and high

volume and / or quantity (paper).

e. Fluvial: consists of the transfer of products or passengers from one

place to another through rivers with an adequate depth (ships,

ferries).

f. Lacustrine: consists of the navigation carried out by boats through

the lakes, mobilizing cargo and / or passengers.

g. Multimodal: is defined as the movement of goods using two or more

modes of transport, in order to carry out more quickly and efficiently

the operations of transshipment of materials and merchandise.

All modes of transport constitute the movements of the logistics supply chain,

which when combined, efficiently transport he goods.

3. ¿What is the difference between a means and a mode of transport?

The difference is that the modes of transport are the systems for

mobilization, used in the transfer of the merchandise from the point of origin

to the point of destination. For example: land, seam air, etc.

And the means of transport are the different physical elements that are used

in the modes to mobilize the merchandise. Example: tools to operate a

means of transport.

4. ¿what is the safest and most expensive means of transport?

Air transportation is one of the safest modes of all, but it is also said to be

the most expensive.
