Christmas markets have become very common in Hungary in recent years.

One of the largest and

oldest one is in Budapest, but it is not the only one in this country. The most popular are in Szeged,
Győr, Debrecen, Eger and Pécs. In my opinion Pécs is one of the best of all.

Christmas markets have an origin. They are from Vienna, where it has been held for more than 700
years. In the 16th century, it was held between Christmas and New Year's Eve. Everyday products
are appeared here, but visitors can also enjoy special cakes. For this reason, the capital of Austria is
visited by more and more people every year.

The Pécs Christmas market lasts from November 26 to December 23. Throughout the event, there
are children's drawings on the walls of the mosque. Furthermore, concerts are waiting for the
visitors during the day. There are also many places to taste local specialties. Prices are similar to
other markets in Hungary. There are plenty of interactive games for younger children. In the middle
of the square there is a huge Christmas tree full of decorations, which makes everything better.

Because of the many things that can be found here, whoever visits this market will have an
unforgettable experience.
