The following extract is about a policy taken by Nazi Germany during the Second World War
With German victory in the early stage of the Second World War, many Jews were gathered in
German occupied territories. In 1941, Hitler adopted the Final Solution. The Jews were arrested and
sent to concentration camps. Young males were forced to work like slaves until they died. Old and
weak males, females and children were simply taken to gas chambers.

seemed they wanted to seize resources there.

-- The USA was on the side of the Allied Powers and fought against Japan in 1942. She even dropped

-- The Great Depression seriously affected the economy of Britain and France. They was not strong
enough to fight with the totalitarian states. Therefore, they adopted the appeasement policy and it

contribution. Communist countries promoted state ownership of all means of production, collective
labour and equal distribution of wealth. (2 marks)
