II. Course Name: Criminal Procedure and Court testimony
III. Course Description: This course provides the criminal procedure to be
followed in observing criminal prosecution. It contains extensive procedures
to follow and observe by a law enforcers. It also provide contribution to
present and future professional forensic examiners for a model and common
procedures on how expert witnesses shall execute an oath of verification,
judicial affidavit, and to testify as expert on opinion issued and duly certified
examination findings being conducted, as well on how to effectively testify in
the court witness stand.
IV. Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO1: Value the concepts of Human rights and victim welfare relative with
the prosecution of offenses, including the institution of civil action against
persons who committed crimes, with the acquisition of basic knowledge who
may conduct preliminary investigation, together with the developing of
technical know-how on the rules on arrests and bail as a form of temporary
liberty of persons accused and charge in violation of the revised penal code
and special laws.
CLO2: Demonstrate competence and broad understanding the important
provision of the law relative with the rights of the accused; the procedures
required in arraignment and plea, including the strict requisites of the law with
regard motion to quash, pre-trial, trial and judgment, and which are all
important consideration in the disposition of criminal charges filed against
person, individually or collectively, and who are held responsible by the law to
answer for the commission of an offense.
CLO3: Apply the Principles of and Jurisprudence of the law in connection with
the initiation of new trial or reconsideration, have a clear understanding when
and how appeal is made after conviction made by the lower courts, vis-à-vis
of developing basic knowledge on the procedures in the municipal trial courts,
including the procedures at the court of appeals and the supreme court, and
develop ideas on how to make search and seizures and the provisional
remedies in criminal cases.

X. Requirements: Comply and pass all academic requirements


XI. Computation of Grades: The passing score is 50% of the total items in the
examinations, while the passing grade for the semester is 75% or 3.00. The
basis for the computation of the semester grade is as follows:
Midterm grade: 70% Class standing and 30% midterm examination
Final Grade: 70% Class standing and 30% final examination
Semester grade: 50% midterm grade and 50% final grade
