1in1500. the area of section is 40 m2. Find the dimensions of the section if its most economical.
Determine the discharge of the most economical section if C= 50 (6)

1.(a) A sluice gate discharges water into a horizontal rectangular channel with a velocity of 6m/s
and depth of flow is 0.4m. The width of the channel is 8m. Determine whether hydraulic jump
will occur and also find its height and losses of energy per kg of water. Also determine the power
loss in the hydraulic jump. (15)

(b)Explain and draw with neat sketch about the classification of flow profiles in gradually varied
flow. (15)
