Pattern Chicken Kitty

Material Used stitches

Approx 25 grams of cotton for the body ch = chain

and the wings sl.st. = slip stitch

Approx 10 grams for the head sc = single crochet

A little bit cotton for the comb and the wattles sc2tog = single crochet two

A little bit cotton for the beak stitches together

2,5 mm crochet hook hdc = half double crochet

5 mm black safety eyes dc = double crochet

Synthetic filling

If necessary felt for the dots


 

BODY

You start at the bottom of the body.

Crochet 2ch

1. 6sc in the last chain from the hook

2. 2sc in each sc, repeat (12sc)

3. 1sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (18sc)

4. 2sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (24sc)

5. 3sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (30sc)

6. 4sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (36sc)

7. 5sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (42sc)

8. 13sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (45sc)

9. 45sc, crochet in the back loop only (45sc)

10-15. 45sc (6 rows)

16. 13sc, sc2tog, repeat (42sc)

17. 42sc

18. 5sc, sc2tog, repeat (36sc)

19. 36sc

20. 4sc, sc2tog, repeat (30sc)

21. 30sc

Change color!

22. 30sc

23. 30sc, crochet in the back loop only (30sc)

24-28. 30sc (5 rows)

29. 8sc, sc2tog, repeat (27sc)

30. 27sc

31. 7sc, sc2tog, repeat (24sc)

32. 24sc

33. 2sc, sc2tog, repeat (18sc)

Place the eyes between row 30 and row 31 with 4sc between space.

34. 1sc, sc2tog, repeat (12sc)

Stuff the body further on.

35. sc2tog, repeat (6sc)

Close the body.

Crochet 45sc along the front loops of row 9 so you get a raised edge (see photo).

Close with a sl.st. in the first sc.

Crochet a picot edge along the front loops of row 23 (see photo):

*Crochet 3ch, 1sc in the first ch, skip 1 stitch, 1sl.st*

Repeat** 14 times and close with a sl.st. in the first picot.

Tie off.

BEAK

Crochet 2ch

1. 6sc in the last chain from the hook

2. 1sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (9sc)

3. 2sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (12sc)

5. 12sc

Stuff the beak.

Sew the beak between the eyes on the head.

WATTLES

Crochet 7ch

Start in the third ch from the hook and crochet:

1dc, 1 hdc, 2sc, 1sl.st.

Don’t tie off and crochet further on:

7ch

Start in the third sc from the hook and crochet:

1dc, 1 hdc, 2sc, 1sl.st.

Tie off.

Sew the front of the wattles to each other (see photo).

Sew the wattles under the beak (see photo).

COMB

Crochet 13ch

Start in the second ch from the hook and crochet:

1sl.st, 2sc, *1hdc, 3dc in the next ch, 1hdc, 1sc*

Repeat ** 1 time and close with a sl.st.

Sew the comb between the eyes. The side indicated with an X should come at the front (see

photo).

WING (MAKE 2)

Crochet 2ch

1. 6sc in the last chain from the hook

2. 2sc in each sc, repeat (12sc)

3. 1sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (18sc)

4-7. 18sc (4 rows)

8. 4sc, sc2tog, repeat (15sc)

9. 3sc, sc2tog, repeat (12sc)

10. 2sc, sc2tog, repeat (9sc)

11. 1sc, sc2tog, repeat (6sc)

Close the wing.

Sew the wings on both sides of the body (see photo).

Sew for example spots on the body.
