Do you agree with ROCKAUTO.COM’s claim? Might customers seeking auto parts need other
channel options? Explain.
No, since the claim may be or may not be true depending on its business model. Customers
seeking auto parts still need other channel options, as auto part has a wide range of variety.
ROCKAUTO.COM’s claim is quite vague, keeping various stocks is quite difficult for an online
store, different care and warehouse if needed for these parts. The customers’ demand for stocks of
parts may also differ for different parts and times. It is difficult in the sense that satisfying the
consumers’ desire may not give them profit anymore, low prices, may result to low quality, and low
quality is not in the customer’s checklist in purchasing their automobile’s parts. Fast shipping, this
may bring conflict in delivery schedules as well as the products’ availability at the time of purchase.
Easy use web site is every customers’ dream, but then, we need to live on the reality that this claim
may be applicable for some, and not for everyone.

Do you think mobile commerce via smart phone will grow rapidly in the future? Why or why not?
Yes, in the situation that we are in a pandemic, it isn’t possible that mobile commerce via smart
phone will grow rapidly in the future specially in the rise of e-commerce and online shopping.
Almost everything nowadays is available with a single click of your mouse, and a single tap on your
touchscreen device.

Why do you think Edward Jones has been able to “buck the trend” toward multi-channel strategy
that would include an online channel as a key option?
Because of his single channel strategy, it is limiting the choice of their customer having
transactions to other brokers other than Edward Jones broker, which helps build a strong customer
relationship. This built a long-term business-customer loyalty relationship, satisfying and getting to
know their clients more in order to provide long term satisfaction and service. Having an online
channel as a key option helps sales increase as well as a more personal approach. With new
developments and improvement on products and services, Edward Jones “buck the trend” toward
multi-channel strategy winning more than what he would’ve goaled.
