INTRODUCTION

Technology nowadays is an important aspect of our daily lives. Technology is


constantly improving its applications and the way we communicate with the rest of
the world and a part of continuous socialization process in an organization.

Orientation and training are the planned introduction of a new employees to


their jobs, coworkers, and the organization. However, orientation should not be
mechanical, one-way process, because all employees are different, orientation must
in corporate a sensitive awareness of the anxieties, uncertainties, and needs of
individual. The orientation is meant to educate new employees about the goals and
responsibilities of the position and company.

After the employees are selected and orientation is organized. The employees
are updated about the background of the company as well as culture, values and
work ethics of the company and they are also introduced to the other employees.

Employees have to undergo a training program, which assists them to put up


a better performance on the job. Sometimes, training is also conducted for currently
working experienced staff so as to help them improve their skills further.

Training is the process for providing required skills to the employee for doing
the job effectively, skillfully and qualitatively. Training of employees is not
continuous, but is periodical and given in specified time.

Generally training will be given by an expert or professional in related field


or job. It required at every stage of work and every person at work. To keep oneself
updated with the fast-changing technologies, concepts, values and environment,
training plays a vital role. Training programs are also necessary in any organization
for improving the quality of work of the employees at all work.

Since training involves time, effort and money by organization, so an organization


should to be careful while designing a training program. The objective and need for
training should be clearly identified and the method or type of training should be
chosen according to the needs and objectives establish.

In short, HRM is the process of recruiting, selecting employees providing


proper orientation and imparting proper training and developing skills.
Conclusion:
Therefore, we may say that orientation and training play pivotal
role in success of an organization by acquainting a new employee to the
new environment, rules and regulation. It gives more knowledge’s and
skills which in turn helps in better performance.

Reflection:
Once employees are selected, they must be prepared to do their
jobs, which is when orientation and training come in. Orientation means
providing a new employee with basic information about the employer.
Training programs are used to ensure that the new employee has the basic
knowledge required to perform the job satisfactorily.

Recommendation

Orientation and training can take many forms, depending upon the type
of work for which the employee hired and the employee’s existing level of
skills. The key to successful is to ensure that the employee truly understands
and can use the information provided. Evaluation can involve formal testing
or informal conversations. Its important to let the new hire know the
questions are welcome- and there is no such thing as a dumb question.
