In one paragraph, explain how the writer uses

language to convey Alex’s mood up to line 29.

Choose at least three examples of words or

phrases to support your answer.

Write around 120 words.

The writer compares or indicates Alex's moods with actions or events.

In line 23, "Torrential rain fell and the humidity was horrendous," was

written. There were 2 ways to interpret this, the first way is that the

weather was bad, but this can also be interpreted that Alex was not in
the greatest of moods and was feeling rather down. "Alex felt queasy

just seeing them," was written in line 19.The writer has directly written

how Alex is feeling. This means that there is no possible double

meaning. Lastly in line 13, the simile "felt like a visitor from another

galaxy," shows that Alex felt out of place and that it felt very unfamiliar

for him. The writer has used a simile to exaggerate Alex's feeling.
