Here at TSAW, we believe your body is your instrument. And just like any instrument you wish
to learn how to play, you must practice. In class, you will do exercises that need to be done in a
class forum. But there are some exercises that you need to learn for your own edification. These
exercises will get your instrument ready to play. Learn to do these exercises in class-but more
importantly, learn to do them before you perform. If you don’t know what a word means-look it
up! Generally speaking, some people will have a problem with some of these exercises initially.
Note which lines give your mouth problems. Do extra work on the lines that give you the most
trouble. Time yourself. These diction exercises should take you 6-10 minutes-tops! These
exercises will become part of our warm-up. Memorize & learn them.
