pins, and bolts; all bolts and nuts in position

- Pitot-static lines and wing tip lights electrical cables: connected properly and
in position

- PRS activation handle safety pin: check secured in the handle

- Required documents: on board

- Instrument panel and instruments: visual inspection

- Controls: full, free and correct

- Master switch: OFF - no control lights and/or electronic instrument activity

- Master switch: ON - EPSI570 is enabled (motor not running!)

- Battery capacity display: clean with no cracks

- Battery %SOC: check indication and cross-reference against airplane journey

logbook (if available)

- Battery temperature and status: check values

- Avionics switch: ON - Make sure you have set all instruments to correct initial
setting (QNH, COMM frequency).

- Radio: check function

- Elevator trim: verify travel and set neutral.

- Flap handle: button spring firm, locking mechanism working properly, smooth
movement along full deflections, no free play or visible damage, verify air brakes*
automatically extended with 2nd stage of flaps (instrument panel knob is
illuminated)

- Parking brake: engage

- Power controller status: check

- Motor status: check

- HV-Bus voltage: check

Our IAS is 90 kt, and we have an outbound tailwind of 13 kt. The difference between
the IAS and TAS at ALPHA Electro altitudes are negligible and we can take the IAS
as TAS.

Therefore:

GS outbound: 90 kt + 13 kt (tailwind) = 103 kt

GS inbound: 90 kt - 13 kt (headwind) = 77 kt

The %SOC to PNR is calculated with the usual PNR equation:

%PNR SOC = useable SOC x homebound GS / (homebound + outbound GS).

We start with 93% SOC, so we have only 63% of usable SOC for this flight.

In our example, this is: 63 % x 77 kt / (77 kt + 103 kt) = 4851 / 180 = 27%.

So our PNR is 93% - 27% = 66%.
