•LAKE BAIKAL IS AN ANCIENT, MASSIVE LAKE


IN THE MOUNTAINOUS RUSSIAN REGION OF
SIBERIA.
• THE DEEPEST LAKE IN THE WORLD, IT’S
CIRCLED BY A NETWORK OF HIKING PATHS
CALLED THE GREAT BAIKAL TRAIL.

There is a unique flora and fauna.

exceptional natural beauty and aesthetic importance;

Kremlin.
Why is it a UNESCO site?

Moscow in Russia and the site of many important
social, political and military events.

human values, over a span of time or within a
cultural area of the world, on developments in
architecture or technology, monumental arts,
town-planning or landscape design;

3. to bear a unique or at least exceptional testimony


to a cultural tradition or to a civilization which is
living or which has disappeared;
