 Report to the F&T Manager on all issues related to ships under his responsibility.

 Ensure all vessels are maintained up to the standards set up by the company & in
compliance with relevant National, & International & Industry rules & regulations.
 Assist management to establish & maintain a safe management practice in compliance
with requirements of (SMS) / the ISM code.
 Receive, study & approve material requisitions received from engine department’s of
ships.
 Co-ordinate with Purchase Department of QN to ensure effective delivery of requested
materials.
 Control & organize the work of the company’s flying squad.
 Ensure Statutory & Classification Surveys for fleet vessels are carried out as per schedule,
while initiate immediate action to handle conditions of class if imposed, within time frame
given.
 Inspect vessels regularly, review all ship’s inspection reports & submit summaries to the
F&T Manager when requested.
 Prepares dry-dock, major repairs & major refit specifications & attends dry docking of the
vessel.
 Develop & maintain a good working relationship with his counter parts in the other
departments & subsidiaries within QN.
 Ensure all personnel under his responsibility carry out their duties in satisfactory manner.
 Review standard reports received from vessels & take the necessary actions to rectify any
deficiency reported or revealed from the analysis of such reports.
 Assist in familiarization & briefing of shore-based personnel & vessels’ senior officers.
 Assist in follow up of marine claims in conjunction with the head of the marine insurance
section by collection of technical data & supporting documents.
 Establish & maintain good working relations with clients in the off-shore field check &
control the costs relating to items of equipment additional to vessels inventory relating to
specific contracts.
 Perform any other duties assigned by the Fleet & technical Manager.

approved budget frame. Any major commitments are to be cleared with the F&T Manager.
